Why choose waxing over shaving?
Shaving is essentially just cutting your hair at skin level. Razors cause ingrown hairs, razor burn, discoloration, itchy regrowth, etc. Waxing greatly reduces or eliminates those issues. Waxing also lasts longer! You get a solid 2 weeks of clean, hair-free skin whereas with shaving, you get stubble and need to shave again within the next couple days. There is no stubble, even as the hair grows back, it is finer, softer hair that is not itchy and uncomfortable. Waxing also causes way less hair to grow back. As you wax, you are damaging and sometimes destroying the follicle’s ability to produce hair. Over time, you have less and less hair. That will NEVER happen with shaving. Also consider how much time you’re spending shaving every day or every couple days VS the 15 minutes every few weeks you’ll be waxing.

What caused ingrown hairs?
There are many culprits! Improper technique, tight clothing, sweat/oils/bacteria getting into the follicle, synthetic materials (such as lace, spandex, nylon), friction, dead skin, dry skin, not following proper aftercare protocol. Unfortunately, some people are just prone to these also.

Can i wax whilst on my period?
Absolutely! I do require that you wear a tampon for sanitary purposes. Also be aware, due to hormones, your service may be more uncomfortable during this time. It’s not an absolute, but a definite possibility. Some people notice no difference during their cycle while others report a huge difference in pain/discomfort.
-
Can I have a wax whilst pregnant?
Yes, waxing is generally considered safe during pregnancy. While there's no evidence that waxing is harmful to either the pregnant person or the baby, it's important to be aware that your skin might be more sensitive due to hormonal changes

What’s the difference between a Hollywood and Brazilian?
A Brazilian wax removes hair from the front, labia, and perineal area, leaving a strip of hair (a "landing strip") at the front. A Hollywood wax removes all hair from the front and back, including the labia, perineal, and anal areas, leaving no hair at all. Essentially, a Hollywood wax is a complete removal of pubic hair, while a Brazilian wax leaves a small strip of hair.

Do I wear underwear for my bikini wax?
For a bikini wax, you can usually keep your underwear on, but for more extensive waxing like a Brazilian or Hollywood wax, you'll need to remove your underwear. This is because the wax needs to be applied to the entire area, and underwear can interfere with the process.
-
How long does the hair need to be in order to be waxed?
In the area where you intend to wax, your hair needs to be at least ¼ inch. That’s about the length of a grain of rice. Generally, it takes about 2 weeks of not shaving (bikini area) for hair to grow to this length. Hair that is shorter is not long enough to get “stuck” in the wax and be pulled out. If there’s any question, we can always try a test strip as some people can be waxed at less than ¼ inch.
-
Are there any medications that would stop me being able to be waxed?
Certain medications and skin conditions can make waxing risky due to increased sensitivity or potential for adverse reactions. Medications like Accutane (isotretinoin), Retin-A, and other retinoids, as well as some antibiotics, can thin the skin, making it more prone to lifting or tearing during waxing. Additionally, individuals with conditions like eczema, psoriasis, or severe varicose veins may also experience complications.

What happens if I get aroused or experience an erection during my male intimate waxing service?
Just so you know, it happens to about 50% of male clientele. This is usually an adrenal response from the waxing service that most guys have absolutely no control over,
and it’s certainly nothing to be embarrassed about.
Stay calm, focus on the treatment, and know that your privacy and dignity are always respected.
